Changing a motorcycle's handlebars means removing the original bars, then fitting the new handlebars onto the clamps and transferring the controls, levers and grips. In practice, you protect the bar to avoid damage, fit the clamps without tightening them, slide on the switchgear, drill the locating holes for the control pins if needed, route the cables through the tube, then tighten and set the angle before securing everything. Depending on the handlebars, drilling and internal cable routing may be required, so it is best to follow the instructions or have a workshop do it if you are unsure. To choose motorcycle handlebars, check three things: the clamp diameter (often Ø 22.2 mm or Ø 28.6 mm), which must match your clamps, the dimensions (width, height, sweep, bend), which set your riding position, and the approval, which confirms the part is compliant for road use. You then pick the style according to use: wider, higher bars open up the posture and add comfort, while lower bars sharpen the character. Material matters too, with aluminium offering a good balance of lightness and strength. These handlebars are compatible with the BMW R nineT range with the 2-valve boxer engine (R nineT, Pure, Scrambler, Urban G/S, Racer, /5) and the R12 / R12 nineT, provided the handlebar clamp is Ø 28.6 mm. The installation replaces the original handlebars, in a few steps: 1) protect the bar to avoid damage, 2) fit the clamps without tightening them, 3) slide the switchgear onto the bar, 4) drill a Ø3.5 mm hole 15.3 cm from the edge (right side) and another 11.8 cm from the edge (left side), according to the control pin, 5) route the cables through the handlebar, 6) secure the bar with the clamps, 7) refit the controls. These handlebars are made of aluminium, in a Black finish, with a Ø 28.6 mm clamping diameter. They measure 763 mm wide and 68 mm high, with a 53.1 mm sweep and a 155 mm bend. Aluminium provides lightness and strength, and these dimensions were chosen by our FCR Accessoires team for a more open, comfortable posture on the R nineT.

Yes, these handlebars are approved: they hold an ABE (German type-approval) under number KBA 70269. This approval confirms the part's conformity, which is a real advantage compared with handlebars sold without approval.
