An aftermarket seat is generally more comfortable than the stock one because it is designed for a specific use rather than for the widest possible audience. The actual gain depends on the product and the rider's morphology.The main difference comes from the foam. A stock seat is designed at a cost target and for an average rider, which works for short rides but starts to feel hard after an hour. A premium aftermarket seat features a reworked foam, with denser and more enveloping layers, which spreads pressure more evenly over the seating surface. The shape of the seat also influences support, with seats designed for long-haul rides offering more pronounced lateral support.Our Vintage Heritage seat for the R nineT features a foam reworked in our workshop, designed to deliver comfort well above the stock seat over the long haul.

This Vintage Heritage seat is designed for the entire BMW R nineT range: R nineT Roadster, Pure, Scrambler, Urban G/S and Racer.The R nineT has gone through several seat mounting evolutions between the Euro4 and Euro5 generations. Fitting this seat is plug-and-play and takes a few minutes, with no specific tooling and no modification to the motorcycle. No particular mechanical skill is required.The installation steps are as follows: 1. Place the motorcycle in a stable position, on side stand or centre stand. 2. Unlock the original seat using the ignition key, as for a standard removal. 3. Remove the stock seat by pulling it rearwards. 4. Position the Vintage Heritage seat in the same direction, aligning the front mounting points. 5. Engage the rear of the seat into its housing and press firmly until you hear the locking click. 6. Check the fitting by gently pulling the seat upwards before riding. The installation is deliberately identical to that of the stock seat, to remain accessible to every rider.

This Vintage Heritage seat is available in two covers: faux leather and Alcantara.Faux leather is a synthetic cover that mimics the look and patina of real leather, while offering superior weather resistance and much easier care. A damp cloth is enough for daily upkeep. Alcantara is a premium microfibre textile with a deep, matte touch, delivering naturally higher grip when riding actively and a very high-end finish.In our FCR Original workshop, we chose these two materials to cover the two most common uses on a R nineT: long-distance riding and more committed riding.

This Vintage Heritage seat is available in three finishes, across two stitching patterns: Brown faux leather with diamond quilting, Black faux leather with vertical ribbing, and Black Alcantara with diamond quilting. The diamond quilted pattern, in Brown faux leather or Black Alcantara, delivers an assertive neo-retro signature, ideal on a R nineT with a heritage or dark roadster spirit. The vertical ribbed pattern (tuck and roll), exclusive to Black faux leather, brings a rawer, more cafe racer voice that works with stripped-back builds.
