A valve cover seals and protects the top of the cylinder head, covering the valve train of the engine. On engines with exposed mechanics, such as boxers and customs, valve covers are highly visible parts that shape the character of the bike, while shielding the internals from debris, dust and minor impacts. In aluminium, they add real durability where original light parts quickly show their limits, and they allow more worked, finned designs that highlight the engine. On the 2-valve boxer of the BMW R NineT, the matte Noir aluminium valve covers we offer play exactly this role.

These valve covers are compatible with the BMW R nineT range fitted with the 2-valve boxer engine (R nineT, Pure, Scrambler, Urban G/S, Racer, /5) as well as the R12 / R12 nineT. Fitting is done directly on the engine, with no modification, in a few steps: 1) unscrew the cap then refit it to check it is correctly seated, 2) reposition the gasket properly, 3) fit the bearing pad, 4) position the valve cover on the engine, 5) tighten fully, reusing the 6 original BMW Ø5x12 screws (threadlocker already applied) together with the supplied screws. The same operation is repeated on the second cylinder. An FCR fitting guide is included with the product.

These valve covers are made of aluminium with a matte Noir finish. Aluminium offers good resistance to corrosion and impacts while staying light, and the matte Noir finish fits the café racer spirit of the boxer engine perfectly. No, no extra hardware is needed. Fitting reuses the 6 original BMW Ø5x12 screws (already fitted with threadlocker) and is completed with the screws supplied with the covers. You therefore have everything needed for a complete installation, with no trip to a parts shop.
