Radiator Guard with Side Returns | Triumph Scrambler 1200

The FCR-TR-GR007 incorporates side returns that extend protection to the flanks of the radiator, weighs 350 g and offers complete frontal and lateral protection. The FCR-TR-GR006 is the plan version: it only protects the frontal face of the radiator, weighs 250 g and has a refined silhouette. The choice depends on your usage. For more committed off-road use with frequent lateral projections (tracks, stony paths), the version with returns is recommended. For road, urban or light trail use, the plan version is sufficient.

Yes. In authentic off-road riding (stony tracks, forest trails, rutted paths), projections do not only come from the front. Gravel thrown by the front tyre in tight corners, debris in ruts, branches in undergrowth often reach the sides of the radiator, areas left exposed by classic guards. The side returns of our FCR-TR-GR007 cover these critical zones. This is the protection we install as standard on our Scrambler 1200 builds intended for off-road use.

Installation takes a few minutes without particular mechanical knowledge, despite the side returns. Step 1: remove the original radiator cover screws with a standard Allen key. Step 2: position the guard on the front face of the radiator, sliding the returns onto the sides. Step 3: replace the original screws through the guard. Step 4: tighten to the torque recommended by Triumph. No drilling, no frame modification. The guard can be removed just as quickly for maintenance operations.

No. The side returns follow the hexagonal honeycomb geometry of the main guard, calibrated by our preparators to maximise the ventilated surface / structure ratio. The airflow entering through the sides of the radiator is preserved, and operating temperatures are not impacted even under demanding conditions (prolonged uphill loads, sporty off-road, summer temperatures). Tests conducted by our preparators on Scrambler 1200 X and XE confirm the absence of abnormal thermal elevation.

The guard with returns can be complemented by other FCR Original or original Triumph protections for global off-road Scrambler 1200 protection. The most relevant options are the engine guard (protection of lower elements in obstacles), the front fender extension (protection against mud projections), brake caliper protections, and the headlight grille. No installation conflict between our FCR-TR-GR007 guard and these accessories. For a coherent off-road build, all of these protections form the recommended base.
