The Triumph Bobber owes its character to its low, stripped-back line, yet its stock light unit stays bulky and weighs down the rear of the bike. The FCR Original workshop designed this kit to give the Bobber a clean, compact tail, in the spirit of custom bobbers.

The kit brings everything the rear end needs into a single assembly: a round, retro-styled Bates LED tail light, a number plate light, a reflector and the plate holder. Two Mini Bates turn signals sit at the end of the arms as an option. The result is shorter and visually lighter, with modern LED lighting hidden in a classic-inspired silhouette.

The light holder is machined from aluminium and signed with the FCR Original logo, while the plate holder is cut from 304L stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and road spray. The whole assembly weighs around 1 kg and comes in black or brushed, to match your bike's chassis.

The kit mounts with the three original screws under the rear fender and reuses the original plate holder connectors. Wiring the tail light, plate light and turn signals takes some method: an intermediate-level job, best left to a workshop if motorcycle wiring is not familiar to you. The fitting is fully reversible.

Designed and validated by the FCR Original workshop on our own builds, this kit is for riders who want to sign the rear of their Bobber with a more compact, better-finished part than stock, without giving up road-legal lighting.

⚠️ Wiring. The kit reuses the original plate holder connectors, but each element must be connected (ground, position, brake, turn signals) following the wiring diagram in the instructions. Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery before starting. If you are not comfortable with motorcycle wiring, have a workshop fit it.

⚠️ Turn signals. The original turn signals cannot be refitted on the kit: plan compatible turn signals, or choose the version with Mini Bates turn signals.

❯ How do you clean up the rear of a Triumph Bobber?

The most effective way is to replace the stock light unit with a compact tail light kit, often called a tail tidy. On the Bobber, the stock unit groups the light, turn signals and plate holder in a bulky assembly that weighs down the tail. A dedicated kit brings these functions onto a shorter, slimmer holder with an LED light and mini turn signals, freeing up the rear fender and highlighting the bike’s low line.

❯ What does a motorcycle tail tidy need to be road legal?

A road-legal tail tidy must display a readable number plate, lit at night, with a red rear reflector. The tail light, brake light and turn signals must be approved (E-marked). An all-in-one kit that includes the plate light, reflector and approved lights avoids missing a mandatory element. Plate angle and position rules vary by country, so check your local regulations.

❯ Is this kit compatible with my motorcycle?

It is designed for the Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200 and Bonneville Speedmaster 1200, from 2021. It mounts on the original points under the rear fender. If you are unsure about your version or model year, confirm compatibility with us before ordering.

❯ How is this tail light kit fitted?

Undo the three screws under the fender and disconnect the light, turn signal and plate light harnesses. 2) Remove the stock light unit and turn signals. 3) Connect the tail light, plate light and turn signals to the original connectors, following the wiring diagram. 4) Position the lower bracket on the fender. 5) Secure the assembly with the three original screws. The fitting is reversible.

❯ Are the turn signals included?

The kit comes in two versions. The version with turn signals includes two Mini Bates LED turn signals, mounted at the ends of the holder arms. The version without lets you fit your own compatible turn signals, as the stock ones do not mount on the kit.

❯ What is the difference between the black and brushed finish?

The black finish gives a discreet, uniform rear end, ideal on a dark Bobber. The brushed finish brings out the aluminium and stainless steel, for a more vintage look that echoes the chrome or polished parts of the bike.
