The chosen format is the performance one: 17 inches front and rear, with a 3.50 wide front rim and a 5.00 wide rear rim. These wide dimensions take generously sized road and sport tubeless tyres, for traction and cornering precision that match the 1200 twin.
On a bike that loves linking corners, every gram counts. The anodised aluminium and stainless steel construction reduces unsprung mass: the bike tips into corners more easily, changes direction with less effort, and the rigidity of the set keeps the line clean, even under hard braking.
Kineo's patented tubeless technology lets you ride spoked wheels without an inner tube, and therefore fit modern tubeless tyres. Wheel bearings and spacers are included. Fitting is done on the original base, transferring the brake discs and rear sprocket, a job to be entrusted only to a qualified workshop.

The reduced unsprung mass is felt from the first corners: the bike tips in more naturally, flicks from one lean to the other with less effort, and the rigidity of the set keeps the line clean under hard braking.

Yes, provided you use rims designed for it. On a classic spoked wheel, the spokes pass through the rim and make it non-airtight, which requires an inner tube. Manufacturers such as Kineo have developed airtight spoked rims that take tubeless tyres directly. You gain in safety, because a punctured tubeless tyre deflates slowly, and in practicality, because it can be repaired without removing the wheel.
For a café racer, favour the 17-inch format front and rear, which offers the widest choice of sport tyres, and rims wide enough for generous sections. Spoked wheels respect the original look of the style, provided you choose a tubeless model for safety. Aim for light, rigid materials such as aluminium and stainless steel, and entrust fitting to a qualified workshop.
They are designed for the Triumph Thruxton 1200 (2016-2024), the Thruxton 1200 R and RS (2020-2024) and the Speed Twin 1200 (2019-2020). The necessary wheel bearings and spacers are included. Fitting is done on the original base, transferring your brake discs and rear sprocket. If you are unsure about your version or model year, check compatibility with us before ordering.
Fitting is to be entrusted to a qualified workshop: remove your original wheels, recover the brake discs, rear sprocket and bolts, install the supplied bearings on the new wheels, refit the discs and sprocket with red Loctite at the specified torques, then install the wheels on the bike. As this is a safety part, this work requires tools, method and professional checking.
These Kineo wheels are made to order, with a manufacturing lead time of around 3 to 4 months, whichever finish you choose. This lead time is explained by the bespoke manufacturing of the wheels. We recommend ordering ahead to enjoy the riding season. For a precise lead time, contact our team.
The stainless spoke finish combines a black rim and hub with stainless spokes and alloy nipples, for a classic contrast with a strong café racer feel. The full black finish turns every element black, spokes and nipples included, for a darker, more modern look. Both finishes are offered at the same price, and other colour combinations are possible on request.
