Stainless steel replacement baffles for the FCR Original exhaust for the Triumph Bonneville, Street Twin and Speed Twin 900

These baffles are the original parts of our FCR Original exhaust system for the Triumph Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120, Street Twin, Street Cup and Speed Twin 900 from 2016 onwards. We offer them as a pair to replace lost, damaged or worn baffles, or to refit a second-hand system that came without them, with no need to buy new silencers.

Their job is to channel and slow the exhaust gases at the silencer outlet. They give the FCR Original exhaust its deep, raspy tone while keeping the sound level in check. With its baffles fitted, the system keeps the sound it was designed for: deep and expressive, without becoming aggressive in town or on a long ride.

Each baffle is a stainless steel cylinder closed by a perforated face, with a hole pattern developed alongside the internal design of our silencers. Stainless steel withstands heat, corrosion and repeated heat cycles, which keeps the sound consistent over time. They are made in France for the FCR Original workshop.

Fitting is simple: the baffle slides into the silencer outlet and is locked by a through bolt and a lock nut. The pair comes with its two bolts and two nuts. Please note that these baffles are designed only for the FCR Original exhaust system and do not fit the stock Triumph exhaust or silencers from other brands.

Riding without baffles sharply increases the sound level and makes the bike non-compliant on public roads. Keeping a spare pair means preserving the comfort, compliance and character of your FCR Original exhaust.

❯ What does an exhaust baffle do on a motorcycle?

An exhaust baffle, also called a dB killer, is an insert fitted in the silencer outlet. It slows and channels the exhaust gases to reduce the bike's sound level. It also shapes the tone of the exhaust: depending on its shape and perforations, the sound becomes deeper or fuller. On an exhaust with removable baffles, it is the part that makes the difference between a controlled sound and a very open one.

❯ Can you ride without baffles on the road?

No. Removing the baffles sharply increases the sound level and makes the bike non-compliant on public roads, with a risk of a fine during a roadside check. An exhaust's approved sound level is measured with its baffles fitted. Riding without baffles is limited to track or private land use, in line with the rules of the venue.

❯ Are these baffles compatible with my bike?

They are designed only for the FCR Original FCR-TR-EC003 exhaust system, fitted to the Triumph Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120, Street Twin, Street Cup and Speed Twin 900 from 2016 onwards. They do not fit the stock Triumph exhaust or silencers from other brands. If in doubt about your exhaust, contact us before ordering.

❯ How do I replace the baffles on my FCR Original exhaust?

With the engine cold, undo the nut and remove the through bolt holding the old baffle, then pull it out of the silencer. Slide the new baffle in, lining up its hole with the one in the silencer, insert the bolt and tighten the supplied lock nut. Repeat on the other side. There is no need to remove the exhaust.

❯ Why replace your exhaust baffles?

Baffles are replaced when they have been lost or removed, when they are distorted or clogged after many heat cycles, or when buying a second-hand exhaust supplied without them. A new pair restores the original sound level and tone of the FCR Original exhaust.

❯ Are the baffles sold individually?

They are sold as a pair, one for each silencer, with two fixing bolts and two lock nuts. Replacing both baffles at the same time ensures an identical, balanced sound on both sides of the bike.
