BATES Headlight Grille | Triumph Modern Classic

A motorcycle headlight grille protects the headlight lens from spray and small impacts, while adding an off-road style. It sits in front of the headlight without replacing its function. While riding, it limits the risks from gravel, branches or debris, especially off-road or in scrambler use. Visually, its metal bars recall off-road bikes and reinforce the bike's character. The FCR Original headlight grille, made for the Bates headlight, combines this protection and look on Triumph Modern Classic bikes.

A headlight grille is usually fitted by reusing the headlight mounting screw, onto which the grille bracket attaches. No heavy modification is required. You hold the headlight, loosen then remove the original screw, position the grille and headlight, then reassemble with the right hardware. Many grilles also let you set the headlight inclination before tightening. The FCR Original grille fits this way on the Bates headlight, with a supplied TBHC M10x45 screw and nut.

This headlight grille is compatible only with a Bates headlight. It is designed for Triumph Modern Classic bikes fitted with this headlight. The mount uses the existing Bates headlight fixing for a precise fit. On any other type of optic, it will not fit: compatibility depends on the headlight, not just the bike model. Before ordering, check that your bike is fitted with a Bates headlight; if in doubt, our FCR Accessoires team can advise.

Installation takes a few steps, without fully removing the headlight. 1. Hold the headlight in place. 2. Unscrew the nut while holding the headlight, then remove the original screw. 3. Position the grille and the headlight together. 4. Fit the supplied TBHC M10x45 screw and M10 nut. 5. Set the headlight inclination using the oblong hole, then tighten the nut. Set the inclination before final tightening and take care not to damage the mudguard. The hardware is supplied.

This headlight grille is a metal bar part, available in a Black or Brushed finish. Its round, open structure keeps it light and strong, for a contained weight of around 100 g. The material resists everyday spray and small impacts, in line with its protective role. Its Ø135 mm diameter covers the Bates headlight lens. You choose it in Black, more discreet, or Brushed, with visible metal.

The Black finish gives a discreet, integrated look, while the Brushed finish leaves the metal visible for a rawer style. Both share the same grille and mounting. The Black version blends with a dark front end; the Brushed version catches the light and underlines the workshop style. The choice is purely aesthetic.
