Triumph Bonneville T100: the accessories and build guide
The Triumph Bonneville T100 is the most accessible Bonneville: the one you ride every day and personalise step by step. At FCR Original, a workshop specialising in Triumph Modern Classic since 2012, it is one of the models we prepare most often. This complete guide covers the T100's technical specifications, its different versions, and above all the catalogue of FCR Accessoires parts designed for it: exhaust, custom seat made in France, road-legal lighting, braking, suspension and finishing touches. Every part is designed and tested in our workshop, plug and play, with no irreversible modification to the bike.

Triumph T100 technical specifications
The Bonneville T100 holds a special place in the Triumph range: it is the direct heir of the historic Bonneville, in a modern, reliable and accessible form. Introduced in 2002, it was thoroughly revised in 2017 with the move to liquid cooling and the current 900cc platform.
Its engine is the 900cc parallel-twin Bonneville, a unit built for low-end torque rather than high revs. The result is smooth, flexible and reassuring riding, ideal for everyday use as well as relaxed rides. It is also an excellent build base, because its neo-retro silhouette lends itself to a huge range of styles.
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Engine | 900cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled |
| Power | Around 65 hp, generous low-end torque |
| Transmission | 5-speed gearbox, chain drive |
| Chassis | Tubular steel frame, spoked wheels |
| Suspension | Telescopic fork, twin rear shocks |
| Brakes | Front and rear disc, ABS |
| Style | Neo-retro, low seat, chrome, teardrop tank |
| Launch | 2002, thoroughly modernised in 2017 |
Workshop tip
The T100 is deliberately gentle as standard. There is no point trying to turn it into a sportbike: its real value is its character and versatility. A good T100 build respects that DNA and works mainly on style, ergonomics and handling, rather than chasing power.
The T100 versions
The T100 comes in several finishes across model years. They all share the same technical base, which is excellent news on the accessories side: parts designed for the T100 are compatible with all these versions.
Bonneville T100
The reference version. Chrome, classic two-tone colours, an authentic neo-retro silhouette. It is the ideal base for an elegant vintage build or a clean roadster.
Bonneville T100 Black
The chrome finishes give way to black: engine, exhaust, wheels and details are darkened. A more dynamic, contemporary look, perfect for a light cafe racer build or a blacked-out spirit.
Special editions (Stealth, Icon…)
Triumph regularly offers limited editions with hand-worked paint (fades, Heritage liveries, gold logos). On these collector versions, we favour light personalisation that showcases the original livery rather than hiding it.
| Version | Factory style | Ideal build |
|---|---|---|
| T100 | Classic chrome neo-retro | Elegant vintage, clean roadster |
| T100 Black | Darkened finishes, dynamic | Light cafe racer, blacked-out |
| Special editions | Hand-worked collector liveries | Light personalisation, preservation |
The T100 build, workshop point of view
FCR Original has been building Triumph Modern Classic bikes since 2012. We do not sell generic parts: every FCR Accessoires accessory is born from a real build, fitted and tested in the workshop before going on sale. It is this hands-on experience that guides our advice throughout this guide.
On a T100, our build logic almost always follows the same order: first the visible and functional (lighting, rear end), then the sound, then comfort and handling, and finally the finishing touches. This progression gives a coherent bike at every stage, without ever breaking the model's visual balance.
Our T100 build as an example
To illustrate, here is a T100 built in our workshop. A neo-retro base transformed into an elegant vintage tracker, entirely with plug-and-play FCR Accessoires parts. Here are the accessories fitted to it, all clickable:

Workshop tip
This build illustrates a simple rule: coherence beats quantity. Choosing a single finish (here brushed and black) across the exhaust, covers and brackets creates a visual unity that sets a real build apart from a mere pile of parts.
The accessories catalogue by category
Here is the full range of FCR Accessoires parts for the Triumph T100, organised by use. All are plug and play unless stated otherwise, and compatible with the T100, T100 Black and special editions.
Exhaust and engine
The Triumph Modern Classics exhaust system is one of the most striking transformations: it delivers a Street Bobber look and a deeper tone, in stainless steel, available in a brushed or black finish. On the intake side, the K&N air filter improves airflow. To protect and dress the lower engine, the sump guard and its reinforced v2 engine guard add real scrambler character, completed by the machined engine cover kit.
Cockpit and aesthetics
To redraw the cockpit, the Black Bobber handlebar and the Alienor chrome handlebar radically change the riding position. The ignition relocation bracket cleans up the cockpit. On the tank, three machined caps to choose from: Le Monza, Le Billet and Le Rippled. For mirrors, the range covers every style: Highsider Montana, Classic Kit, Sport Kit, and the Rizoma One, Eccentrico and Spirit.

Seat
The Triumph Modern Classic seat is handcrafted in France, in partnership with NPS Sellerie, a French master saddler. Several colours are available (Tobacco, Black, Wine, Smoke, Cognac) for comfort and a style consistent with the Bonneville spirit. Lighting and signalling
On a T100, replacing the bulky original turn signals is often the first step. The Mini Bates front and rear turn signals and the FCR Original front turn signals are CE-approved. At the rear, the 3-in-1 rear indicators and the 3-in-1 FCR Original turn signals combine indicator, tail and brake light. The Bates LED taillight, the Vintage Bates round headlight, the Bates headlight grille and the complete headlight kit finish the set.

Bodywork and plate holders
To clean up the lines, the front mudguard, the rear fender, the complete mudguard kit and the rear mudguard kit redraw the volumes. For the plate, the side licence plate holder and the universal licence plate holder free up the rear wheel, while the racing number plates add a racing spirit.

Protection
Often overlooked but essential in the long run: the chain guard, the Off-Road radiator guard, its Shield variant and the JMP tank pad. For security, the disc lock bracket with SRA lock fits cleanly.
Braking and brake lines
To improve braking and looks, the Aluminium Nitro front disc 310mm and Aluminium Nitro rear disc lighten and modernise. The aviation-grade 90° banjo brake hose sharpens the lever feel.
Suspension and handling
This is one of the most rewarding areas on a T100. The Shock Factory 2Win rear shocks transform the behaviour on rough roads, and the Hyperpro progressive fork spring kit completes the front. The wide triple tree kit opens the way to more radical builds.
Workshop tip
If you were to make only one mechanical upgrade on a T100, it would be the rear shock. The standard suspension is fine but quickly overwhelmed on poor roads. A good shock changes the feel from the very first kilometre, far more than a power gain.
Riding position and comfort
The Triumph Modern Classic foot pegs and the rear foot pegs, CNC-machined, add finish and grip. For navigation, the Beeline Moto II GPS integrates discreetly into the cockpit.
Transmission and maintenance
The Triumph 900 belt drive kit lets you switch to belt drive on the T100, Street Twin and Scrambler. For routine maintenance, the K&N air filter cleaning kit, the BS15 intelligent battery charger, the Power Box PB-02 battery booster and the Venhill clutch cable cover the essentials.
Exhaust: which finish to choose
The exhaust line is the most requested part on the T100. It is stainless steel, available in two finishes, with silencer dimensions of 455mm high, 180mm wide and 490mm long. Here is how to choose between the two finishes for your project.
| Criterion | Brushed stainless | Black |
|---|---|---|
| Style | Vintage, chrome, timeless | Street Bobber, dynamic, discreet |
| Pairs well with | Classic chrome T100 | T100 Black, dark build |
| Upkeep | Easily revived | Fears deep scratches |
| Sound | Identical: deep, round, more present than stock | |
| Compatibility | T100, T120, Street Twin, Speed Twin 900 (after 2016) | |

| 2. Sound | Wake up the character | Exhaust system, K&N air filter |
| 3. Handling | Improve the ride | Shock absorbers, fork kit |
| 4. Comfort | Ride better, longer | Custom seat, foot pegs |
