Fitting is simple and tool-free in most cases. 1. Unscrew the original cap from your tank. 2. Check that the Rippled's O-ring is properly in place. 3. Screw the Rippled on by hand, without forcing, until you feel the O-ring seat. The knurled sides make tightening easy, even with gloves on. No modification to the tank is required.
