These Kineo spoked wheels were selected by our FCR Accessoires team for the Triumph Bobber and Speedmaster 1200. Signed Kineo, an Italian high-end benchmark, they follow the tradition of American bobbers: a tall, thin front wheel, a low, wide rear wheel, and between the two, a bike that seems to sit right on the ground.

The pair combines a 19-inch front rim with a 16-inch rear rim. This contrast in diameters stretches the bike's line and opens up the front end, where a smaller front wheel would squash the silhouette. The fine spokes add to the effect, for a look that recalls bikes built in the garages of the fifties.

Kineo's patented technology makes the spoked rim airtight: you run tubeless tyres, without an inner tube. A punctured tyre deflates slowly instead of bursting, and can be repaired without removing the wheel. The anodised aluminium and stainless steel construction reduces unsprung mass, a real plus on a bike driven by a big 1200 twin.

Wheel bearings and spacers are included. Fitting is done on the original base, but requires transferring the brake discs and rear sprocket: a job to be entrusted only to a qualified workshop. Depending on your bike's model year, the 19-inch front wheel may differ from the original size: we recommend confirming your configuration with us before ordering.

❯ What front wheel size should a bobber have?

Two schools coexist on a bobber. A tall, thin front wheel, in 19 or 21 inches, follows the American bobber tradition: it lengthens the silhouette and gives a lighter look. A low, wide 16-inch front wheel gives a squat, muscular stance instead. The choice is mainly aesthetic, but it also affects steering and tyre choice: a taller wheel makes the steering more stable and slightly less quick.

❯ What does changing a motorcycle wheel size involve?

Changing a wheel’s diameter alters the bike’s ride height, steering geometry and speedometer reading, which may need recalibrating. You also need a tyre in the new size, enough clearance with the fender and fork, and compliance with local regulations. Having a qualified workshop fit the wheels lets you check all these points.

❯ Are these wheels compatible with my motorcycle?

They are intended for the Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200 and Bonneville Speedmaster 1200 from 2018. Depending on your model year, the 19-inch front wheel may be the original size or a conversion: contact us before ordering to confirm your configuration.

❯ How are these wheels fitted?

Fitting is to be entrusted to a qualified workshop: 1) Remove the original wheels. 2) Recover the brake discs, rear sprocket and bolts. 3) Install the supplied bearings on the new wheels. 4) Refit the discs and sprocket with red Loctite, at the specified torques. 5) Install the wheels on the bike with tubeless tyres in the correct sizes.

❯ What is the lead time to receive these wheels?

Each pair is made to order, with a manufacturing lead time of around 3 to 4 months, whichever finish you choose. Ordering in winter lets you ride equipped from spring.

❯ What is the difference between the stainless spoke and full black finishes?

The stainless spoke finish combines a black rim and hub with stainless spokes and alloy nipples, for a classic, very bobber contrast. The full black finish turns everything black for a darker, more muscular bike. Both are the same price, and other combinations are possible on request.
