At the heart of the gesture

The precision of the line, the regularity of the stitch and the material that comes to life in the hands of the saddler.

There's more to a successful Seat than just a good-looking surface. It's the sum total of technical and aesthetic choices that transform your motorcycle into an object of emotion. On a Triumph or a BMW, the seat already expresses your style: taut café racer lines, heritage elegance, long-haul comfort. Our mission at FCR Accessoires is simple: to offer you a Seat that respects the lines of your machine, enhances your comfort and is a lasting part of your personalization project.

Our FCR Accessoires method

The process begins in our workshops: ergonomic study, definition of curves, compatibility with our back loops and kits, then template creation and artistic direction validation. FCR Original. Once these requirements have been met, our French partner NPS Sellerie, a trusted neighbor, carries out the handcrafted production.

This synergy combines product creation, saddlery know-how and rigorous quality control to deliver top-of-the-range, customized motorcycle saddles ready to fit your Triumph, BMW R NineT and BMW R18.

Video immersion at NPS Sellerie

To share this unfiltered know-how, we filmed a complete video in the NPS Sellerie workshop. You'll see the precise gestures, the rigorous pattern-making, the mastery of topstitching and the tensioning of the headdress.

Step 1 - the foam base

It all starts with a clean base and the selection of the right foams for the job: support density for support, comfort for the seat. We gradually sculpt to achieve a flowing shape that aligns naturally with the bike's tank and rear end.

Blowgun and surface inspection before foam shaping
Preparation: cleaning, inspection and markings.
Cutting and shaping Seat foam
Precision cut and bevelled edges for even curvature.

The surface is then smoothed with pneumatic sanding. We add a fine finishing foam to obtain an even skin. This step is essential for a perfectly taut, long-lasting cap.

Laying finishing foam on the base
Foam finish: even, comfortable to the touch and an ideal base for cap tension.

Step 2 - Templates and patterns

We trace the sewing lines directly on the foam, then apply a thin, transparent fabric to create a true-to-size template. Each piece is numbered, its seam values integrated and the pattern transferred to the final material: full-grain leather, premium imitation or alcantara.

Paper templates and tracings for the Seat cap
Meticulous pattern-making: symmetry, axes and millimetre stitching margins.
Cutting and pattern-making tools for motorcycle saddlery
Precision tools: rulers, sharpened scissors, cutters.
Clean holes in finishing felt for fasteners
Technical details: clean holes and impeccable screw connections.

Step 3 - Sewing and topstitching

The headdress comes to life at the NPS Sellerie workshop. Panels are assembled with extreme attention to pattern alignment. The stitching gives rhythm to the material, revealing the volumes and giving the Seat its visual signature. It's at this stage that the personality of your personalized Seat moto is expressed: elegant fluting, precise rhombuses, subtle piping.

Stitch regularity and thread hold: aesthetics and longevity.

The hand and the eye: a constant challenge.
Seat moto upholstered and finished on the workbench
The result: taut upholstery, clean lines and even seating.

Step 4 - Covering and finishing

Covering consists of stretching the cover over the foam, then gluing it neatly to the underside of the base with neoprene. The returns are adjusted millimeter by millimeter for perfect tension. A finishing felt is then glued to the underside of the Seat to protect the frame's paintwork and keep the underside as clean as the top.

Progressive tension: zero wrinkles, perfect hold over time.
Seat bottom finish: felt and discreet fasteners
Finish underneath: clean felt, neat cuts and discreet fastenings.

FAQ

How to customize your Triumph Seat ?

Our references are designed for Triumph Bonnevilles and Bobbers. You can start with a ready-to-install model and adapt it to your personal preferences.

How to customize your BMW Seat ?

On the BMW R NineT, a Seat with rear buckle refines the line and enhances attitude. On the BMW R18, opt for superior comfort with a 2-seater version or a Seat with integrated luggage rack. Select materials, stitching and density to suit your ride and posture.

How do you know which Seat to choose for your motorcycle?

Use dictates the choice. For city and touring use, opt for a comfort mix foam. For long-distance cruising and two-up riding, opt for a more generous density and a softer feel. Aesthetics must remain consistent with the lines of your Triumph or BMW.
